Itinerary

Kasane to Chobe River

Your trip starts at 15h00 on Day 1 with a pre departure meeting at the hotel. We overnight on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. We relax on a sunset game-viewing cruise on the Chobe River. Optional morning Game Drive (own account). Overnight Chobe Safari Lodge (or similar accommodation).

Kwando River (approx 350 kms/8 hrs drive)

Traveling through the Chobe National Park we enter Namibia and continue to the Eastern side of the Caprivi Strip and arrive at our lodge overlooking the flood plains of the Kwando River. A lush area teeming with wildlife and birdlife offers a great opportunity for a late afternoon game drive (own account). Overnight Camp Kwando (or similar accommodation).

Khwai Area Of Moremi Wildlife Reserve (approx 350 kms/5 hrs drive; plus 2-3 hour boat trip)

Continuing into the Caprivi we cross into Botswana we travel by road to the edge of the Okavango Delta. We transfer 2-3 hours by boat to Pepere island in the delta. The following day we do mokoro and game walks on the island and the smaller islands in the area. The activities included are mokoro trips, scenic boat tours and game walks on the island. (Accommodated in Meru style tents with en suite facilities. Lunch on day 5 is included.)

Maun (approx 320 kms/4 hrs drive; plus 2-3 hour boat trip)

Departing the delta by boat we then travel by road to Maun. The afternoon is free for an optional 1 hr scenic flight over the vast Okavango Delta (own expense). Overnight Cresta Maun Hotel (or similar).

Moremi Wildlife Reserve (approx 120 kms/3 hrs drive)

After breakfast we change from our overland vehicle into open 4x4 vehicles and proceed to our accommodation situated at the edge of Moremi game reserve. Moremi is lush and varied, shallow flooded pans, plains and forests. It is one of Africa's finest areas for wildlife, with particularly high game densities including all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region and over 400 species of birds. Days are spent enjoying morning and afternoon game drives in the private concession and inside Moremi. Overnight Mogothlo Safari Lodge (or similar).

Makgadikgadi Pans (approx 420 kms/7 hrs drive)

Departing Moremi we travel to Maun and change back into our Overland vehicle. A further 3 hour drive takes us to Nata. Late afternoon we visit the Makgadikgadi Pans for a truly unforgettable sunset over what remains of an ancient 6500km2 lake. Overnight Nata Lodge (or similar).

To Victoria Falls (approx 320 kms/4 hrs drive)

We travel to Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls - without doubt one of the greatest and most spectacular sights in Africa. The afternoon and following day is spent at leisure to browse the local markets, to experience the many optional activities on offer in the adrenalin capital of Africa including white water rafting, bungi jumping, microlighting/ airplane or helicopter flights over the Falls and to visit the Falls (own expense). Overnight Sprayview Hotel (or similar accommodation).

In Victoria Falls, trip concludes

The tour ends today after breakfast.
