The Mount Diablo North Peak Trail offers scenic views of Mount Diablo, the North Peak, and Oakland / San Francisco. This 6 mile hike is easily accessible from the East Bay, as the trailhead is in Walnut Creek.

Dogs are not allowed here, but horseback riders love this trail network. The trail features wildflowers in the spring, and the occasional creek after winter rains. The trail is best used from March - October.

This is also a good beginner hike for training for Mount Rainier or Mount Whitney.
