Camp Out in the Steep Ravine Cabins

Although these cabins are bare bones, lacking both water and electricity, they couldn't put you in a better spot for views of the Pacific Ocean. From your cabin, you can enjoy amazing sunsets, possible whale watching, and access to trails like the cabins' namesake, Steep Ravine Trail.

The cabins are located close to the parking lot and restrooms (clean but no showers). To access the parking area, you need to receive the code from the rangers, which you can get once you've made a reservation. The cabin interiors include a built-in table and benches, sleeping platforms (the equivalent of two doubles, one twin, and one child), counter space for food preparation, a wood-burning stove, and a small closet. Firewood for the stove is sold on site; you'll need to bring your own sleeping bag, air mattress, camping stove, cooking gear, lantern, and other supplies. The windows have no coverings, but have clips to hang a curtain or sheet if you want privacy.

With the cabins' close proximity to Stinson Beach, you can run into town for supplies or for a quick bite. If you're looking to get a night away from the camp stove, head south for 15 minutes to Pelican Inn for upscale pub food.
