Great place to camp with kids!! There's plenty of playgrounds, a creek, and a sluice for mining. Also there's a room off the camp store that houses snakes, frogs and other local wildlife. Plenty of wilderness to enjoy.

We did this trip with our 5 year old son and spent 2 nights camping and 1 whole day in the city. Best way to see NYC without spending a fortune. We had a blast. Highly recommend to people with kids.
