7 Most Instagrammable Destinations for This Spring

We all love Instagram and today we are bringing you 7 most instagrammable destinations for this spring.

Spring is coming and it’s a great time to get away from everything and take a trip. Make the most of cheaper deals that come with spring being the shoulder season for most destinations. Like the plants and trees that are tentatively flowering, and the animals that are coming out of hibernation, so are the restaurants, hotels, and activities that are only open in the warmer months.

Here are some of the places where you’ll be able to get some of the best Instagram photos this spring. They’re so beautiful you won’t even need to use a filter!

Praia Dona Ana, Algarve, Portugal.

Condé Nast traveller described Praia Dona Ana as not only the best beach in the Algarve, but in the entire world. With the region boasting some amazing beach real estate, this is quite the statement. Wow your followers and gain a bucketload of new ones with your snaps of the beautiful cove on the Costa d’Ouro, named after the red and gold cliffs that tower over the beach.

It’s a blue flag beach with a great restaurant built into the cliffside, meaning that you can upload some shots of delicious Portuguese cuisine too! Before you leave, put your camera and phone away, and spend some time in the beautiful azure waters, marvelling at the grottoes and sea stacks on the surrounding coast.

Mount Fuji, Hakone, Japan.

There are three words that sum up why you should consider Japan in spring: Cherry blossom season. These iconic pink trees transform the whole of the country into a magical garden, so why not head to Mount Fuji to snap the iconic volcano in all its glory against the backdrop of a clear blue sky and these incredible trees?

Unlike a lot of other places on this list, spring is the high season for travelling in Japan. Make sure you book your hotels and travel well in advance. Flights can also be more expensive at this time of year.

Cinque Terre, Liguria, Italy.

Let’s face it, Cinque Terre makes a great Instagram picture year-round. However, spring is an especially good time to visit to snap the beautiful pastel-coloured houses clinging to the cliffs so as not to fall deep into the blue Mediterranean Sea.

Cinque Terre is made up of 5 villages and Riomaggiore is the one where you’ll get the best shots – thanks to its iconic harbour. Aside from great pictures, spring is a great time to come, as the paths and tracks between the village are much quieter, and better for hiking.

Mayrhofen, Zillertal, Austria.

A place that will get the adrenaline racing just as much as it will relax you, Mayrhofen is a great destination to capture spectacular Alpine landscapes and snow-capped mountains. Unfortunately, you won’t see the famous edelweiss in spring, but other Alpine flowers will get you lots of likes, especially if you have a macro filter.

Photo ops to one side, spring is a great time to visit as there are still good skiing opportunities on the Hintertux glacier, reachable on the world’s highest cable car. One day you can be skiing, before soaking up the sun rafting, tubing, or mountain biking the next.

Zanzibar Archipelago, Tanzania.

For the more adventurous and exotic traveller, make your followers jealous by posting pictures of hammocks, white sand beaches, and turquoise waters in Zanzibar.

You have a little more to time to plan your trip to Zanzibar. Because it’s located south of the equator, spring is actually between June and August, when the weather is generally drier, cooler, and there’s less humidity. If you want to go in Europe’s spring time, there’ll be fewer crowds, but a lot more rain.

Reykjavik, Iceland.

Always wanted to see the Northern Lights? September to April is the best time to see this world-famous phenomenon, so head to Iceland in early spring for your best chance of snapping the magical wave of green, pink, violet, and other colours that split the black of the night sky. If you’re on the hunt for great photos, powerful cameras can pick up the auroras even when the human eye can’t.

Iceland is extremely cold in the winter, so spring is easier for foreigners. If hunting for the Northern Lights hasn’t kept you awake all night, spend the day relaxing in the blue lagoon, or taking in the awe-inspiring landscapes of this small fiery rock in the North Atlantic.

Banff National Park, Canada.

A great spring destination for a number of reasons, the first being that Banff National Park is absolutely stunning. It’s not until the summer that it really starts to heat up, so you’ll be able to snap jaw-dropping contrasts between the not-yet-melted snow and the lush green of the forest foliage and wide-open meadows.

A number of hotels offer deals in spring, so you might just save a bit of cash on your trip. Don’t forget to try the huge number of activities on offer, such as glacier walks, skiing (in some areas), hot springs, and many more!

We want to acknowledge and thank the past, present, and future generations of all Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples whose ancestral lands we travel, explore, and play on. Always practice Leave No Trace ethics on your adventures and follow local regulations. Please explore responsibly!
