This is a small hike up to a large wall of premium climbing rock. There are bolted routes and bouldering routes. There are plenty of routes ranging from novice to pro. Anyone can go and try to climb these beauties.

My climbing partner and I started our adventure here at Boxcar Rocks. We hiked up a path with beautiful pinetrees on either side. When we arrived at the rocks, we but our packs down and laced up our climbing shoes. We boulder ed some amazing problems and decided to free solo some of the bolted routes (ment for rope and harness, don't try unless you know you can make it!) When at the top, the most amazing view of the rolling Pennsylvania mountains and blue - pink sky was visible. After climbing we drove over to the Appalachian Trail and hiked up the first mountain, camped at the summit and headed back the next morning. It was truly an amazing experience.

Hike to the Cumberland Valley Overlook

This hike is steep at points but the climb up the mountain has lots of switchbacks so it isn't just straight up. The hike is beautiful and during the summer there are lots of blackberry and raspberry bushes along the trail that we stopped to snack on. The Overlook is just before you crest the top of the mountain and has a stone bench to sit and enjoy the views.
