Explore Starvation Creek Falls
Cascade Locks, Oregon
Description
Added by Jhamil Bader
View the stunning 227ft Starvation Creek Falls. 300ft walk from the parking lot to the falls. Disability Access. Perfect for all skill levels. Pleasant picnic area alongside the creek. Small path across the creek leads to a better view point.
The Starvation Creek Falls drops 141ft down into a naturally formed bowl, cascading past a wooded picnic area and onto the Columbia River. The falls are one of the easiest falls to access in the Columbia River Gorge along with Multnomah Falls, but are far less Crowded. The short 300ft walk from the Starvation Creek State Park parking lot is easily tranversable by anyone and disability accomodations have been recently added. The falls are very family friendly and are a great place to stop for a picnic.
Parking can be challenging to find at peak times, as the Park grants access to many trails, leading to both Mt. Defiance, as well as the Starvation Ridge Trails.
All in all its a stunning spot that is often overlooked and is a great addition to any outing if you want a little something extra when visiting the Columbia River Gorge, for very little extra time spent.

Reviews
This isn’t really a hike but it’s a great introduction for people wanting to get an example of a hidden gem of the PNW

Not one of the most photogenic falls in The Gorge but still worth a stop to see.
