Explore Little Corona Del Mar

Newport Beach, California

Description

Added by Anne Ginthner

Secluded beach with free street parking, diverse tidepools, and beautiful sunset views

Little Corona del Mar is a secluded beach located on Poppy Avenue. Known as one of the less crowded beaches in the area, the beach offers the perfect place to relax for the day or catch the sunset at night.

When you arrive you will be in a residential area. You can park anywhere along the street for free. The entrance to the beach is a paved road located at the end of the street where Ocean Blvd and Poppy Ave meet. The path is one of very few in Orange County that does not involve stairs. This makes Little Corona Beach a desirable spot for divers and picnickers because they can wheel their equipment right down to the beach. It's a steep hill, but the seclusion and tide pools make it worth the walk.

Little Corona del Mar beach is relatively small. The beach is very well protected from swells and surf, making it one of the easier beach diving sites and a great beach for families who don’t want to worry about their little ones getting towed away by a large wave or undercurrent. The site also has a public restroom and shower facility. If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk along the rocks on the left and right side of the beach. The further down you go the more of a view you will get.
