There was a giving tree that I grew up with. It bent back and exposed it's trunk like a ramp for anyone to perch on and watch the sunset. Its unique look was iconic of the area it lived. It stood alone as a pillar, marking a place of rest and comfort. Even when I went to college, on my return trips I would still visit the tree and be reminded of the comfort it provides. It wasn't until I graduated when I found that the tree had been killed, chopped down, and mutilated under the pretense of improving the beauty of the area. The tree I grew up with is gone and no one can climb to the top and play with the tree like before. Now they just climb on its corpse. My friend is gone but I still remember. Stop doing this to trees.
