Located 7.5km from Dunedin City Centre just off Blackhead Rd, Tunnel Beach is an accessible short walk with ample parking available.

Approximately 1200m long, the track begins with a descent of 150m (490m) to the top of a small tunnel next to an extremely remarkable sea arch. 72 often slippery steps lead through a small man-made tunnel down to beach level. The beach almost disappears at high tide so make sure to check the local tide table, however even at high-tide this walk yields impressive views.

Wonderful walk for all ages. Perfect spot for a picnic atop the sea arch.Also a very romantic spot at sunset. :)
