Nike Lane hosts the remnants of a Cold War Era radar and missile launch site along with several adjacent hiking trails that lead to views over the Hudson River.

To get to Nike Lane you must first turn onto Tweed Blvd. from Route 9W and about a mile up the narrow street will be Nike Lane. In order to get to the launch site you must park your car on the gravel lot off the side of the road and walk past the barbed wire gates. Turn left at the fork and follow the street until you reach the small collection of abandoned buildings on the summit. I would recommend walking across the small grass field between the two clusters of buildings and taking a detour into the woods for an eery view of Rockland county and even a glimpse of the Tappan Zee Bridge. Another bonus is the seclusion of the site allowing for encounters with various wildlife species including white-tailed deer. The Launch Site itself is not much as it is only a collection of 3 buildings and a metal platform but its draw is most definitely the historical value which allows a tangible sense of the fear once felt by the nation.
