Dekorte Park Meadowlands Trail Reviews
Plenty of parking. Easy, mostly flat trails. Transco is dirt and grass that goes out along an old gas line. Hooks left through a chainlink fence, over an old bridge and runs into active train tracks. There is a trail that continues across the tracks but as far as I know that's private property. The Saw Mill Mudflats is a nice trail that runs between two tidal basins and electrical towers. Plenty of birds. Lots of geese and ducks. Saw Mill runs one direction to a rocky break that can be passed at low tide but are algae covered and slippery. Trail isn't maintained beyond that. Going the other direction the trail dead ends at a 9/11 Memorial and runs into the other half of the Transco trail back to the parking lot. The trails are all largely well maintained. There are usually a fair amount of people hiking, walking dogs or bird watching. Large well lit parking lot as well.
