Hike & Explore the Crystal Springs Preserve

Lebanon Township, New Jersey

Description

Added by Cristina McGannon

The best thing about this Preserve is the scenic views. The list of activities is seemingly endless and can be enjoyed year round.

With over 230 acres to explore, you will want to come back! There are trails, paths, ponds, and fields to explore within the confines of this acreage. Parking is easy, with a big lot and there are picnic tables there as well if you so desire. This is a public park, and there are rules and regulations posted, so be sure to read them and adhere to them.

The Preserve is tucked back behind residential communities, but once you park and get out, you have the sense of being in the middle of nowhere. The sunset view from the parking area over the meadows is a must! A short walk down the path past the ponds and you will see any number of wildlife, wild turkeys, various birds, beaver, deer etc. There are also bat boxes a long the way.

You can check out the Preserve website at: http://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/depts/parks/ParkAreas/CrystalSpings/info.htm

There is information, trail maps and a list of what activities are available.
