Lincoln Hills Loop in Missoula, Montana is a well-known hiking trail that offers a variety of natural features. The trail is a moderate 11.65-mile loop that takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete. It is known for its panoramic views of the Missoula Valley and the Rattlesnake Wilderness. The trail begins with a steady climb, offering views of the surrounding hills. As you ascend, you'll pass through a mixed forest of pine and fir trees. The trail then levels out and takes you along the ridge, where you'll have views of the valley below. The trail also features a small lake, perfect for a mid-hike break. The lake is surrounded by large boulders, providing a unique landscape. The trail then descends back into the forest and loops back to the starting point. Hikers should be aware that the trail can be rocky and uneven in places. It's recommended to wear sturdy hiking boots and bring plenty of water. The trail is best hiked from May to October, when the weather is most favorable.
