Explore small island off Lake SuperiorHikingCliff jumpSwimming
From the parking area, look through the trees to see the beach. You can either walk down to the beach or take the trail to the right towards the island. You will need to wade through the water to get to the island. It is usually waist deep. There WILL BE currents so do not go out during storms or if the waves are too big. Follow the trails around the island. There are spectacular views throughout. The backside of the island is all rock and cliffs - this is where many people enjoy cliff diving and swimming.
Getting there: Little Presque Isle is located 7 miles northwest of Marquette. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive up County Road 550 (The Big Bay Road). You’ll pass Sugarloaf Mountain (located on right) and pass Wetmore Landing (located on right). Keep driving for a few more miles, and before a small bridge, there will be Little Presque Isle to the right. Turn in and there will be a parking lot down a short road.
