Exploring Joshua Tree
Twentynine Palms, California

Unlike any other place you will visit
I have always been fascinated with Joshua Tree since i have moved to Southern California. The main draw for me has been is rocking climbing and milky way opportunities. If you are a photographer like myself this place is perfect for setting up those awesome Milky Way shots.
I was here for just the weekend and hiked many of the trails around the park. Most of them are fairly easy to navigate. Ryan Mountain is by far one of the more difficult hikes in the park. It is a 2.9 mile hike to the top with a 1070 ft elevation gain. I would highly recommend doing this hike because you can see the the whole park. Also i had a pretty cool sighting of the Desert Big Horn Sheep as well as seeing some of the desert flowers in bloom.
For campsites, i would recommend Indian Cove. You can book campgrounds in this part of the park and has some of the coolest rock formations within the park. This is also where there are plenty of rock climbing routes. It is a little bit of a drive from the main park entrants which can be a pain but the camping is more rugged without paved roads. The photos attached are all from the Indian Cove campground and from the top of Ryan Mountain. My main reason for this trip was to catch the milky way which was covered by some clouds but it turned into a very interesting photo
If you haven't been to the Joshua Tree yet you really should make a trip and see this incredible landscape. You won't regret it!!!
