About Mitchell KOA Journey
No one can visit Mitchell without seeing the world's only Corn Palace. Established in 1892 and at its present location since 1921, the structure is stripped each year and decorated anew with murals formed by thousands of bushels of corn, grasses, grains and other products celebrating South Dakota's bounty. The Corn Palace is mentioned in the book 1,000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die. At the Dakota Discovery Museum, see historic American Indian beadwork and quillwork. Stop by the nearby Cabela's, just minutes away. Then return to your comfortable campground with Tent Sites, Camping Cabins and RV Sites up to 70 feet long. A pool, mini golf and bike rentals keep kids happy. After a stay here, you'll be rested and ready for the road. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 70 feet. Your hosts: Jim and Jerry.
