Paddle to Cumberland Falls
Williamsburg, Kentucky
Description
Added by Heather & Aaron Koch
Experience the beauty of the Niagara of the South. 68 Feet of cascading water and house sized boulders.
When you arrive at Cumberland Falls State Park the signs tell you how to get to the falls. They don't tell you how to get to the beach and launch your watercraft for a more personal adventure. If you follow the moonbow path down past the lower overlooks you will find the stairs leading down to the beach. Some caves to explore are also on this path. The beach is a big, beautiful, natural sandy stretch of a half mile. From the beach you will not see the falls, you have to paddle out and look to the left. Depending on the time of year and the river flows you may be able to get right under the falls.
