Artist's Point is where I learned to love hiking. In 2012, I hiked it with my wife for the first time. From that moment on, I became more and more adventurous. We tried new and more challenging hikes in the area, but have always returned to this one. Right now we're here in the winter, and it's an entirely new challenge. The waves have been large and chunks of it are covered in Lake Superior ice. It's a beautiful hike, even if you're an experienced hiker. You can see the beauty of Grand Marais and the Sawtooth Mountains in the background.

Kettle Moraine State Forest offers loads of trails for various uses. If you can, park at the forest headquarters off WI-59, which is free. The Ice Age Trail runs straight through here, and there's even an overnight shelter.

One of the best things about Waterfall Glen is the variety of things you can do. The main trail is great for hiking, trail running, or biking. There are plenty of side-trails to explore. If you want to make a day of it, bring a lunch and picnic at the Waterfall.
