There were some sites that had shade but of course those got snatched up the quickest. The bathrooms were in good working order and the water was fresh and clear. There are no showers available. Most of the sites are fairly exposed we stayed here the night before doing our highline trail hike we got lucky with a reservation. The night prior to the hike the wind picked up very strongly and we ended up sleeping in the car we left early to beat the traffic to Logan's pass parking lot. The views here are beautiful and it is an excellent place for night sky viewing if it's not cloudy. We hiked around St Mary lake a little bit and saw a moose and several ground squirrel. Get firewood in town it is not sold at the campsite. We camped in a tent the tent pad of small gravel was actually fairly comfortable even without our air mattress. Three stars only due to difficulty making reservations and lack of shade.

Made a trip of Ptarmigan Tunnel and iceberg. Do the tunnel first, iceberg makes a wonderful finale and is more gradual on elevation gain

Nice prep hike with a lot of up and down. We took the loop counter clockwise. Lots of lovely native flora. Goes by rock shelter which was neat. 99%shaded. Streams were dry when we went. Be sure to pack water

Quite enjoyed the shady atmosphere and The ravines. Some of the stairs were in need of maintenance or repair. We just went for a Day hike and completed the six ravine challenge took about 4 hours because we got lost and had to backtrack a couple of times. The trail maps are somewhat deceptive and not to scale and the trails could use a little bit more distinct marking other than that a really pretty example of a civilian conservation corps Park. Took a drive around the campground and it appeared to have lots of openings despite the sign saying campground full. Most spots were pleasant and shady looks like it would be a nice place to stay easy access to sugar Creek and through rest of the park. Camp store was very compact but well equipped and firewood was amply available on site. Especially liked trails 4 and 5 advise going down the easy way and up the rugged way as going up the ravine affords some really pretty views of the streams coming downhill there are ladders on these two hikes not very tall though.
