Squaw Creek Loop Trail is a lightly trafficked 2.5 mile hike, located in Squaw Creek Park Iowa.

Squaw Creek Loop Trail is a very well maintained trail with a double track almost all the way through the whole loop. The trail is very manageable for all skill levels, as there is only 190 ft of total elevation and relatively short. In addition, there is a large amount of shade along the trail, but because of this when it rains there is oftentimes a lot of mud. Beware of bugs and mosquitos in the wetter months, defiantly recommend bringing bug spray.

The trail is a beautiful wooded hiking trail with forests all around it. Since this trail is not only used for hiking, it is multi purpose so be on alert for fast mountain bikers. There is also a playground, off the trail in the park part of Squaw Creek Park for children. Dogs are allowed on the trial and in the park but must be on leash at all times. The best time of the year to go is when it is gorgeous in the early spring and fall as it's filled with wildflowers. Recommend going early to hike this as it is more busier during the mid-day hours.

Hike Squaw Creek Loop Trail Reviews

Nice hike in Marion with lots to see along the way. When I went, I saw multiple people mountain biking, so that must be a popular trail in the area for that. Nice hike that doesn't take too long.
