Snow Shoe to a Yurt at Galena Lodge

Have you always dreamt of staying in a yurt in the middle of winter? Come on... don't tell me you haven't! Well if you have, this is the place for you. 

Located about 20 miles north of Sun Valley, Idaho lies Galena Lodge- an outpost with over 30 miles of trails for hiking, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. 

A good amount of snow can be expected around Thanksgiving in this area so even if you might not see a lot of snow on the mountain, it's worth checking to see if there is more snow around here!

What I really love about this place, is there is certainly activities for all ages and levels. If you are looking for a more leisurely outdoor adventure, pick up some snow shoes and go on one of the 1-2 km trails. If you are up for more of a workout, rent some cross country skis and traverse along some trails deep into the woods and immerse yourself in the snow capped trees. If you are REALLY feeling those chill vibes, you can just post up in the lodge and have yourself a hearty bowl of chili or a bowl of kimchi and lentils. 

If you are looking to amplify your adventure here, rent out one of the four yurts for your family or friends. The yurts are easily accessible by snow shoeing or cross country skiing from the main lodge. There is an outdoor sauna located a short distance from a few of them which is the perfect way to relax those burning quads from your skiing!
