Description
Added by William Santoro
This is an incredible circle highway that takes you to where the plates are moving away from each other (Pingvellir), to the oldest geyser (Geysir), the incredible waterfall (Gulfoss), and finally to Keri the giant natural crater.
Rent a car and enjoy some of most breathtaking views imaginable. You first arrive at Pingvellir and see the oldest parliament in the world and where the tectonic plates are moving apart gradually every year. You can hike through the valley it has created and see the waterfall and river that run nearby. Once you are done you will next go to Geysir or "the Great Geyser" and see all of the different hot springs around the area. You can hike up the hills around the area or simply just watch Geysir go off every few minutes. Finally, you will see the scenic waterfall Gulfoss which absolutely astonishing to behold. You can hike down to ridge over to a natural platform at the top of the biggest waterfall on site. Be careful because on this platform you will get wet! Once you are done there you will head over to the gigantic crater and hike down and around the massive hole that has been created in the earth in front of you.
