Lanikai beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Escape the crowds in Waikiki and enjoy great views of the surrounding, smaller islands offshore.

During the weekdays the beach is relatively empty, but on weekends during peak tourist season it can become extremely crowded. Lanikai is a popular spot for photo shoots as renowned models and photographers frequent the place on nice days. Due to its position on the east side of the island, Lanikai is recognized as being great place to watch the moonrise over the Mokuluas, especially during the full moon. This is definitely a place to come, and if you can surf while you're here, icing on the cake!

Over the past few years this beach has gotten ridiculously crowded to the point where street parking has become off limits during certain times of the day. Police frequent these streets and will ticket/tow people. I feel bad for residents who live near here and get their driveways blocked or their lawns parked on. Don't get me wrong, the beach itself is beautiful. If you do visit, please DON'T leave any of your trash. There's no trash can on the beach so bring a trash bag and take all your garbage with you.

and everyone knows it!! This beach can get really crowded and parking can be very difficult, so keep that in mind... but, if you don't mind being surrounded by people, this beach is highly recommended!! The sand is marvelous and the water is calm and clear. A view of the Mokes adds that little extra and provides a subject for your ocean shots!

Nice, easy-going beach. Not too many waves, just good for lounging. Safe, no garbage on the sand, beautiful beach and water.
