Missouri Mountain to Mount Oxford to Mount Belford
Looking to bag some Colorado 14'ers? Well, here's your chance to get three of them in one hike. It's a long day so it is important to start early, be prepared, and keep your eye on the weather. While other Colorado 14'ers have a similar length, this hike is particularly hard on the body because of the up-down-up-down-up-down. The best way to do this hike is to start with Missouri Mountain, foll...
Missouri Mountain Trail
Getting there: The trail begins at Missouri Gulch TH. If you are a car camper or are trying to snag a sunrise summit, there are many many drive off sites in trees and near water before and after the trailhead. The road to get to the trailhead is not paved, but is well maintained - a super high clearance vehicle isn't necessary. The TH is about seven miles off of Chaffee County 390 road.

Mt. Belford and Mt. Oxford
You'll being your ascent at the Missouri Gulch Trailhead, which is located a few miles up Chaffee County Road 390, at around 9,600 feet. The trail is very clear and very well maintained, but is steeper than most trails (even quite a few of the 14er trails I've done) right from the get-go. Remember, the round trip length is anywhere from 11-13 miles, so don't burn yourself out too quickly.

You'll cross a bridge and meander along the creek, eventually reaching another bridge crossing at about 1.5 miles. After this bridge, you'll reach a trail junction. Be sure to go right (towards Horn Fork Basin and Bear Lake). Continue to gain altitude through the basin, eventually coming out ...
