Located outside Hope, BC, along the Coquihalla Highway, this is a fun and easy hike with an epic old railway bridge at the end. Check it out if you're driving by or looking for old history.
The hike is easy, so no need to pack a legit backpack. Bring some water, a snack, and definitely your camera.
Starting with a quick steep section, the trail slowly goes to a flat section through the forest, before opening up to some old tunnels along the way. Follow the trail to the left and pass the tunnels and you'll reach the bridge.
How to get there: Drive north from Hope on Highway 5 (Coquihalla Highway) to the Portia exit #202. Use the exit as a u-turn and enter the highway heading southbound. Immediately before the large Ladner Creek bridge is a small road leading off to the right, take the road and park alongside it near the highway.
As tempting as it may be to walk across and explore the old route on the opposite side, DO NOT cross the bridge. Almost all of the planks are rotten and one slip would mean certain death.
