This 2km (one way) hike offers a great workout and anyone who completes the hike is rewarded with some of the best views on the island.

Starting from Ganges village, head west on Rainbow Rd. which eventually turns into Collins Rd. Follow Collins road for 0.8km, and keep your eye open for the minimally marked trailhead on the lefthand side of the road - it's located just after Collins Rd. stops winding. Park your car on the side of the road, and make sure to check for traffic before crossing the road to the trailhead.

The trail itself is quite steep, however there are number of level sections to help you catch your breath on the way up. The trail meanders through a forest of coastal Douglas Fir and Arbutus trees and make sure to keep an eye out for playful ferry doors that are scattered throughout the forest.

From the top you are rewarded with an unbeatable view of Vancouver Island and Howe Sound. Definitely worth the thigh burn on the way up! Make sure to be careful on the hike down, as it's easy to roll an ankle on the loose gravel.
