Start this hike from the parking lot on top of Cypress Mountain. The adventure begins at the trailhead reading "Howe Sound Crest Trail." Follow as the trail begins to wind uphill and away from the parking lot. The trail will eventually meet a gravel road; turn left and follow the road until it narrows into a trail again.

After about 10 minutes of hiking, you will see a junction and a trail map. If you keep going straight, the trail continues on towards St Mark's Summit. If you go left at the junction, you will eventually reach a lookout over Bowen Island and Howe Sound (Note: views are definitely better from the top of St Mark's).

After continuing straight through the junction, the trail is very well marked and easy to follow over the rolling hills towards the summit. Stop at the top to have lunch and admire the views before returning the same way that you arrived.
