Our day started off with a ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Bowen Island. The trailhead for Mount Gardner on Bowen Island is a bit of a walk from the ferry terminal, and begins just after Killarney Lake. The trail starts out as a road and it winds up the side of the mountain until finally turning into a smaller pathway. The trail is fairly well marked, but there are many cross-paths that can become confusing so stay alert. This is not a very steep or long hike, so it is perfect for a nice day excursion! At the top there are two helicopter landing pads that make fantastic lunch spots.
