The Garden to Sky Trail in Avalon, California, is a moderately challenging hiking trail that stretches for 2.9 miles. The trail begins at the Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden, ascending to the summit of Avalon Canyon. The trail is well-marked and offers a steady incline, making it suitable for intermediate hikers. The trail's main attraction is the panoramic view of the island and the Pacific Ocean from the summit. On clear days, hikers can see as far as the mainland. The trail also offers views of unique geological formations and native plants, including the rare Catalina Ironwood tree. Hikers are advised to wear sturdy shoes due to the rocky terrain and bring plenty of water, especially during the summer months. The trail is open year-round, but the best time to hike is in the morning or late afternoon when the sun is less intense. The trail is also accessible by the Island's shuttle service, making it convenient for those staying in Avalon.
