Description

Batteries to Bluffs Trail offers up great San Francisco bay views including the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Batteries to Bluffs Trail in the Presidio is a true gem of San Francisco. It has everything you could want in a hike: a sea-side path along the ocean, relatively easy parking, gorgeous views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a secluded beach that's perfect for picnics, sunbathing, and enjoying the beauty of the Bay.

While the steps leading up and down the bluffs make this hike moderately more difficult than nearby trails, the payoff is well worth it. You will earn iconic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and scenery you won't believe is within city limits. Put this one on your short-list for when friends and relatives come into town and want to do something active!

Dogs are not permitted on this trail.

Batteries to Bluffs Trail Reviews

Great views make the trek worth doing over and over again!

Amazing, up-close views of the bridge. The further you go along Marshall Beach toward the bridge, you're more likely to run into some nude sunbathers.

Bring your pooch! The trails were well maintained through all of the rain we've been getting.

Amazing place. If you ever go here, be sure to listen to the mounts on the wall that speak about how the bridge was built. Its very interesting and well worth the trip.
