I live in Grand Teton National Park. I'm an avid runner, hiker, skier, and camper. I spend much of my time exploring Grand Teton, the Gros Ventre Wilderness, the Bridger Teton National Forest, the Jedediah Smith Wilderness, the Wind River Range, and any other awesome trails I come across.

This is a spectacular summit, especially for those who are not technical climbers (like myself.) I went in a group of 3. None of us had done this summit before, but we found our way easily enough. I do know several people who have attempted this hike at different times and some how headed toward the saddle between the Middle and the Grand by mistake. You'll eventually realize it if you do this and have time to correct yourself, but save yourself the effort and identify the right saddle early on! Get ready for lots of boulders. I had a great time going up and down the large boulder fields. We went in the first half of July after a large snow year and wished we had taken ice axes, but we made it without them. I recommend checking the conditions with the Jenny Lake Ranger station or on their blog to see if you want to take one. If anything, it makes coming down much faster and more fun.

Hidden Falls is absolutely beautiful and one of the only accessible waterfalls in the park, but plan to be with 300 of your closest friends and have them in your pictures when you get to the falls. This hike gets so congested in the summer that for me it's not fun. I'd only recommend it in the off season (May-mid June or mid Sept - Oct.)

Paintbrush Canyon is one of my absolute favorite hikes in the area.

Incredible hike! The net elevation gain is not much, but it is a LOT of up and down the entire way to the cirque. Give yourself lots of time to get there.

Go up Paintbrush and down Cascade. That way the hike is 1/3 up and 2/3 down, instead of the other way around!
