A mom who decided to get fit a few years ago, I took up running and hiking to keep myself moving. Since moving to the Front Range foothills a year ago, I've spent my free time discovering all the trails I possibly can. I'm in love with Colorado and the Rocky Mountains; I also like to take pictures, and I share my adventures here on The Outbound and on Instagram at @run2themountains.
To get to Watrous Gulch, follow the Herman Gulch Trailhead for the first 1/4 mile. Where it forks, take the right fork.
This is a great idea! I recently did a sunrise hike to Grizzly Peak, just west of Torreys. It's beautiful with the sun hitting the snow capped peaks. Stevens Gulch Rd is also a favorite of mine for snowshoeing in winter.
The Cliff Loop is a good place to see a long-range view of fall foliage. I did that last year in October. Doing the Cliff Loop doesn't add much extra mileage, either.
