This is an old mining town about 1.5 hours north of Anchorage. Very interesting and a great place to explore.

About 1.5 hours north of Anchorage. Short walk from the parking lot. Pack a lunch, easy hike, One of the neatest places I went in Alaska. It's not the safest place, chains for guard/hand rails were not attached in numerous spots. There were drums of oil rusting away and leaking into the ground and into the stream.
