This is an amazing and scenic area for photography at the foot of Mt. Whitney in Lone Pine, CA.

We usually hike up to spots but this is our first time at Alabama Hills as we slowly introduce ourselves to the Mt. Whitney area. It is an easy drive in and out and there is plenty of room for you to camp with beautiful views of the rock formations and of the Sierra Nevada mountains to the west. It wasn't too busy but you will definitely find some RVs camped around. It was a bit windy so a nice spot by some rock formations (and there are plenty) would be best to pitch your tent. Hiking around the rock formations is what makes this area a little rough but with sturdy hiking shoes, you will be fine. We brought our 2 dogs and definitely loved climbing and running around.
