The Eye of a Traveler

By: Yazzie Burdick + Save to a List

Adventuring through new areas is something I have always found enjoyable throughout my life.  As a child, I was always very drawn to traveling.  I think a big part of any adventure is in the novelty of the experience. You have to break ground into new territory and experiences you’ve never had before. Part of the excitement in adventures is how you don’t know what the outcome will be.

Being an 18 year old on my own in this everlasting world, I have encountered people who appreciate adventures and excitement within traveling just as much as I do.  I live in a medium sized city and I am not nearly even close to being done exploring it and everything around it.  Throughout this past year, one of my friends and I explored the different national parks around the area and sometimes places that were up to even an hour away. These are the kind of people and experiences that I appreciate most in life.

Traveling releases such a lovely sensation that grows within yourself.  Your mind is taken to pristine places, intaking your surroundings as you continue your journey.  It is said that the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.  I adore this statement because if you break it down into depth, it truly does become clear.  Imagine this, you have landed in an exotic place, you had decided to take a trip to somewhere you hadn't been to and so you did.  In one hand, you are tightly clenching you plane ticket while you are anxiously waiting to get off the plane and go explore the journey awaiting you.  This is felt through your mind and heart, the excitement and ambition.  You haven't left your plane seat yet and you are already fantasizing about an adventure waiting to happen.  Everything is foreign to you, and that is the beauty within being able to feel something that you have not seen.

Appreciation toward yourself and the vast world around you is awakened.  Go explore, go make something out of this blessed life you have been given. Treasuring the beauty in our Earth is one thing that will never fail to bring happiness throughout existence. I desire for everyone to feel this.

If you have an eye for travel, you are bound to live a contently vivid life.
