Lower Grand Canyon Falls is the tallest waterfall in the park at 308 feet. Red Rock Point gives amazing views of the falls and up and down the canyon.

Lower Grand Canyon Falls is one of the gems of Yellowstone and is the one of the most photographed spots in the park. Red Rock Point on the north side of the Yellowstone River gives amazing views up and down the canyon and is only a short .3 miles from the North Rim Road.

What's crazy is how long it took me to finally visit the falls, and I've lived within two hours of Yellowstone for most of my life. I had been to Old Faithful countless times but had yet to explore this cool place. What I love about this waterfall is that there are many trails around it that provide you with interesting and unique viewing angles of the waterfall. You can hike down the trail to the top of the falls, which provides a breathtaking view of the canyon overlooking this enormous waterfall. This makes for a moment you won't soon forget.

This is a must see in Yellowstone, so make sure to add it to your to-do list when you come.

Red Rock Point Reviews

One of the most stunning features in the park. I've had great sunrises and sunsets when photographing here.

One of the most beautiful places in America. Get there at sunrise for something majestic.

Definitely one of the best views in the park, not as crowded as the rest of the park. I'd much rather come here than watch Old Faithful.

If your any where near YNP, this is a mandatory stop. The canyon has overlooks on both sides with jaw dropping views. Its a beautiful thing to feel as small as this canyon does.

It's a super shame our cameras can't catch the details that our eyeballs perceive, man! This vista is a beaut from any and every angle. Come during the early mornings to beat the crowds and catch the sunrise.
