Huckleberry Mountain via Sheffield Creek Trail
This hike has it all and at 10 miles round-trip, is not difficult depending on the conditions. I hiked it the last weekend of October in tennis shoes and shorts (albeit with leggings) and was dressed adequately for about 2/3 of the hike. The last 1.5 miles on the way to the fire tower was through snow, with some drifts deeper than my knee (I'm 6' tall for perspective). So, dress accordingly!

Union Falls and Scout Pool
Of a summer spent living in Yellowstone, and many overnight trips in the park, the trek to Union Falls and Scout Pool ranked at the top of my list. (Many of my fellow gas station employees agreed!) The hike itself is nothing spectacular, but takes you to two of the most beautiful places in the park that most people will never see (or even hear about). If you have an extra day or two in Yellowst...
Camp at Lizard Creek Campground
This gem of a campground was discovered in desperation after all the campsites were booked at Yellowstone. There are 60 sites with relatively clean bathrooms. The sites are large with optimal privacy from your neighbors. If you're lucky enough you can even snag campsites steps from the lake. There are plenty of trees throughout the campground, with each site equipped with a picnic table, bear l...
Winter Camp at Colter Bay Campground
Just a 45 min drive from Jackson Hole, the Colter Bay Campground on Jackson Lake is a great spot to camp overnight, fish and canoe in the spring and summer time when the ice has melted. This is an ideal location to shoot some star photos and catch a beautiful sunrise in the morning. The best thing about the Grand Tetons is that you will for sure see tons of wildlife like moose, foxes, rams, goat...
Camp at Colter Bay Campground
If you have never been to the Grand Teton National Park, you should make it next on your list. It is a fantastic place for wildlife viewing and exploring. If you stay at the Colter Bay Campground, you will find many off-trail areas to explore. A trail leaving from Group Site 6, heading towards the water, ends up at a perfect site for hanging out - secluded and great for night photography. If you...
Photograph Lewis Falls, Yellowstone NP
If you are coming into Yellowstone National Park from the South Entrance Road (also known as Highway 89) be prepared to stop minutes before Lewis Lake to hike to this waterfall. After crossing the bridge over the Lewis River pull over on the right hand side of the road, there should be plenty of parking. You will walk back towards the bridge and though you can see the Lewis Falls from the road ...
