Towards the end of April the roads in Grand Teton National park are clear enough to bike. the park doesn't open to car traffic till the First weekend in May. Biking in the winter in the snowy mountains is something of dreams.
In the winter the park's main road is closed off at the Taggart Lake Trailhead parking lot which is located 2 miles in from the Moose, Wy Entrance, allowing for cross country skiers, snowshoers, and winter backcountry enthusiasts to explore the park in winter. Towards the end of March or early April, Depending on the yearly snow fall, the Park's main road becomes clear of snow and becomes the perfect place to lay down some treads on your bike. The park's main road doesn't open to public vehicles till early may. The road is usually teaming with backcountry skiers coming down from laying lines on the various peaks in the park. There is no actual limit on how far you can explore on the roads.
