The Devil's Punchbowl is a beautiful area to explore! Water drips from the moss on the walls on the inside of the Punchbowl cave and the water that collects in pools keeps it's cold temperature and clarity. Icicles also form and continuously drip on the walls too!

The Devil's Punchbowl, is a product of the immense erosional forces caused by the melting of glaciers approximately 10 thousand years ago.  The beauty of your surroundings once you go down the wooden stairs (or take a more adventurous path trail) to the bottom of the Punchbowl is incredible. You feel so small as you look up at all the beautiful greens and trees, enjoying the water slowly trickling along the bottom. Looking up at the rocks you see all these amazing colors in them, products of water and time.  During the winter, the Punchbowl turns into an amazing crystalized ice cave.  This is definitely a spot where you'd want to explore every season because there is always something new to find.  One more thing I found very interesting was that  people have seen gnomes here running through the tunnel that leads to one of the trails and strange orbs of light in the parking lot. It is rumored that the gnomes may curse you if you don't leave a candy offering for them, so don't forget to pack some sweets!
