At an elevation of 4848' Snowshoe offers 251 acres of skiable terrain, including 57 trails at 3 different ski areas. The mountain also offers lodging, food, bars, and shops.

Tucked away in the mountains of West Virginia, Snowshoe is the perfect scenic family or friend winter getaway!

Before you leave, book your lodging in advance to make sure you acquire your desired location of stay! The resort offers a large selection of rooms at a variety of prices and locations. Also, make sure to print out directions ahead of time due to the fact that GPS and Cell phone service is almost non-existent in the mountain range. While this can make for a great relaxing out of touch getaway, you want to make sure you know how to get there ahead of time! If you need to rent equipment, do so when you arrive. Overnight lockers are available near the rentals. Don't forget to purchase your lift tickets before you hit the slopes.

Start off your day off by deciding which of the three ski territories you want to start with. The main ski area is the Snowshoe basin area. This section is made up mostly of the beginner and intermediate trails, however there are also some more difficult slopes as well and terrain parks. This area is also the most populated area. The second ski are is Silver Creek. Located only a short distance away, you can either park here for a small few or take a bus from the main Snowshoe Village bus stop. Silver Creek slopes are a bit more intermediate skill level however there are a few beginner trails and also a few expert trails. There is also a few terrain parks here as well. Also, Silver Creek has 12 trails open for night skiing; something the other areas do not offer. Finally, the third area of ski terrain, also reached by bus from the village, is The Western Territory. This is made up of only expert terrain. This section includes 1500' of vertical slope and sections of gladded terrain. All three areas each have great powder coverage and snow making abilities.

After a long day of snowboarding/Skiing, head to the village at the Basin Area for some dinner or a drink with friends. The village resort offers a selection of restaurants , shops and nightlife to wind down from an active day!!

Along with skiing and snowboarding, Snowshoe has a variety of winter activities as well as plenty to do in the summertime as well. For more info, check out http://www.snowshoemtn.com/
