Distance: 1.5 miles roundtripElevation gain: 200 ftAmazing viewsOpportunity for explorationVery easy trail for younger or older family members
Cape Flattery is the most northwest point of the continental United States, and the views are absolutely stunning. From the trailhead, there is an easy 3/4 mile trail that stops at several different established viewpoints, which afford gorgeous views of caves, sheer cliffs, and incredible rock formations formed by years the ocean's abuse.
The trail is very well maintained and easily accessible for people of all ages and skill levels. Be aware that the area has a wet and rainy climate, and the manmade wood trail and bridges can be very slippery when they are wet.
For those who are interested in exploring a bit further, there are a few less well established trails and areas of the cape that are accessible, but much more difficult to get to. In my opinion, these less populated areas are what make Cape Flattery truly special. In the interest of maintaining the more wild and exclusive feeling of those areas, I am not going to share exactly how to get to them, but I will say that there is a beautiful waterfall, and some stunning secluded beaches that can be accessed with a bit of exploration.
