Take the Eight Mile trailhead in to the "Mini Eight Mile Lake" and instead of going straight to the big lake, take a right at the sign. This begins the ascent - from start to finish it is a 3100 ft elevation gain and 6 miles from trailhead to the lake. The trail is very visible - just a few fallen trees to climb over and brushy in some spots. You will pass awesome snowy peak views and eventually a small valley. Once you reach 6300 ft you drop down into the bowl that holds the lake putting you at 6190 ft.
