The Valley View and Twin Peaks Trails Loop in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a moderate to difficult hiking trail. The loop spans approximately 2.86 miles and offers a total elevation gain of 768 feet. The trail is well-marked and primarily used for hiking, running, and nature trips. The trail begins at the Valley View trailhead and ascends steadily to the Twin Peaks. The path is rocky and steep in parts, requiring sturdy footwear and a good level of fitness. Along the way, hikers will pass through a variety of landscapes, including dense forests, open meadows, and rocky outcrops. The highlight of the trail is the panoramic view from the Twin Peaks. From here, hikers can see the entire Salt Lake Valley, the Great Salt Lake, and the surrounding mountain ranges. The trail also features a small lake, perfect for a mid-hike rest. Hikers are advised to bring plenty of water, especially during the summer months. The trail is open year-round, but snow can make the path slippery during the winter.
