Great 3-mile roundtrip hike to a swimming hole known as the Power Dam. You can take a swim to cool off from the hike!

This is a great little swimming hole spot in Moab. A lot of locals will call it The Power Dam. It's just a short easy 1.5-mile hike up the canyon to a natural swimming pool where you can swim and hang out. This is a perfect little spot to check out in Moab while visiting the great national parks.

Although cliff jumping may look appealing, the water is pretty shallow, so stay safe and avoid jumping.

Moab is an extremely popular place having 2 national parks in one destination. This spot is nice because you can get the red rock experience with some friends without the big crowds at the national parks.

On the hike, you will have to cross the water a couple of times. There are also slippery rocks in the pool so bring shoes so you can get wet.

The parking area holds about 33 cars, so if that is full, please respect the neighborhood and residents and come back another time. Please don't park on private property.

NOTE: Please remember this is a sensitive area: be respectful, pack out what you brought in, and pick up anything others weren't as courteous to take out.

Short hike to some sick places to swim! I could spend alll day there! Plus, you can hike farther behind the swimming hole for a little bit and follow a river back.

The hike is easy and scenic, and a great spontaneous outing. Surprisingly crowded, but if you keep hiking past the main pool another three quarter mile or so you can have another pool all to yourself. Beware neither are very deep!

Needed a dip and chill after a long day of hiking and exploring. This was the perfect place to lizard out before the sunset. Tip: no tree cover along the parking route; perfect time to warm the solar shower Parking further is a challenge except in the late afternoon. People wind up parking all the way down to the end of the street. Go later and see freed up spaces of those who depart earlier.

Love the water-crossing trail that takes you out here, and there is a spot to jump in! Just aim for the darkest water from the top of the waterfall ✨

This is such an awesome spot! It's a life-saver when you want to beat the heat on those hot and dry summer days in Moab. I had no idea locals called it "Power Dam"! Good to know.
