Description

Added by Travis Poulson

A crystal-clear stream flows through a strikingly beautiful red rock canyon. The easy, 4-mile round-trip path deposits you directly beneath the 6th largest arch in the United States.

Just a few minutes outside of Moab and Arches National Park, you’ll find a fantastic, 3-5 hour adventure. Grandstaff Canyon is 4 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 300 feet. Parking is easy and the route is straightforward.

The path crosses the clear perennial stream several times, so footwear that can get wet is recommended. On several crossings, you can choose to follow the trail or walk directly up the stream – which is much more fun. Just watch out for poison ivy. Dogs are allowed but must remain on a leash.

The grand finale of the canyon is Morning Glory Natural Bridge spanning 243 feet across a shady alcove.  Enjoy the view, it’s hard to beat.
