"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view" - Abbey• Amazing views of Zion National Park• 5 miles up n' down• Hike on slick-rock + use chains for stability• 1500 feet elevation gain• About 3-5 hour hike roundtrip• Conquer one of the most famous hikes in the National Park System + a hike you will never forget

Take a walk on the wild side, quite literally. This hike is only 5 miles round trip, but be prepared to get your heart racing - if you are afraid of heights.

Start early in the morning before it gets crowded + before the sun gets hot, especially if you are going in the warmer months. Head up the trail, from the Grotto Trailhead. Hike two miles to Scout's Landing, hiking up the side of large cliffs on a paved path. The last hurdle, before you get to Scout's Landing, is referred to as Walter's Wiggles and is a set of 21 steep switchbacks.

Once you get to Scout's Landing, take some photos, look down at double-lined yellow roads below, drink some water + start your journey to the top. The last part of the hike takes some coordination, as you need to balance yourself and use your arms to climb up steep ledges.

Once you reach the summit there is plenty of room to sit down, hydrate + take in amazing 360 vistas of Zion. Walk to the end and down to the right to get the best photos of the park and the carefully stacked cairns.

*This hike is not for everyone. You need to be careful and conscious of your surroundings. One wrong step could take you over the edge.
