This amazing hike only 30 minutes away from Salt Lake City features 2 different alpine lakes. The first lake is silver lake and the trail starts from the boardwalk. As you start to loop silver lake the trail takes you on an incline to a field of boulders where you have an amazing view of the silver lake area. As you continue to climb you will come to twin lakes where there will be less people than silver lake. For extra solitude try to hike to the other side of the lake.

This hike takes you through beautiful alpine forest and is only 685 feet in elevation gain. There are a few look out points from the trail where you will be able to see the end of Big Cotton Wood Canyon. A great time to go to see wild flowers  is mid July.
