Additional Information
Mt. Manaslu (8156m ) is the eighth highest mountain in the world and one of the fourteen 8,000 metres plus peaks. It dominates the Manaslu Himalaya range bordering the Ganesh Himal range on the East and Annapurna to the West. Since the border with Tibet in the north isa strategic location, the area is considered a restricted trekking destination; treks must be fully organized through a adventure travel trekking agency like us. The area is relatively untouched by tourism, however, the number of visitors to the region is increasing in recent years. The Manaslu circuit trek starts from a small village of Soti Kholar reached after a jeep ride of 8 hours from Kathmandu. As the trek proceeds, we pass through lush hills and canyons, dotted with enchanting villages, on our way to Larkya La (5135m), one of the beautiful Himalayan high passes, we drop down from Larkya La to Marshyangdi Valley, part of the Annapurna circuit trek, and to the road which leads us back to Kathmandu by jeep. As the Annapurna circuit has been impacted by road construction, Manaslu circuit is fast becoming a popular alternative trekking region in the Himalaya.
