Itinerary

Arrive in Punta Arenas

Meet your MT Sobek representative at Punta Arenas airport and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, gather with the group for a trip briefing followed by a welcome dinner.

Spend the Day in Punta Arenas

Get to know Sara Braun, an important pioneer whose fortune was based on sheep farming, with a visit to the Palacio Sara Braun. In the afternoon, travel over the Patagonian steppe and arrive at a ranch in a scenic sheep-farming area that will be your home for the next three nights.

Ride Horses Across the Patagonian Steppe

Saddle up for a horseback ride across the steppe, just as Scottish writer Lady Florence Dixie did in the late 19th century. Enjoy stunning views of Torres del Paine National Park, including the three towers that Lady Florence dubbed "Cleopatra's Needles." In the evening, enjoy a true Patagonian barbecue of butterflied leg of lamb.

Hike to Cleopatra’s Needles

Challenge yourself with a strenuous hike deep inside the Paine Massif that will bring you to Mirador Los Torres passing through beautiful beech forest, talus-covered slopes and finally boulders before arriving at this spectacular point. From this famous viewpoint, you can get a spectacular view of the jagged granite towers of Cleopatra's Needles. We'll enjoy our pack lunch en route before hiking back to the hotel.

Journey to the Paine Massif

Enjoy a drive through the park from east to west, stopping along the way to hike on the outskirts of the Paine Massif. See important rock formations, local fauna, and prehistoric cave paintings. In the afternoon, arrive at a lake on the outskirts of the park and settle in to a geodesic dome for the night.

Explore Torres del Paine & Take a Boat to Grey Glacier

Explore the western part of the Torres del Paine National Park with a boat trip to see Grey Glacier or with small hikes in the area, depending on the group's abilities and the weather. Spend the afternoon taking in the beautiful natural surroundings of your camp.

Kayak Last Hope Sound

Set out on scenic kayaking trip to explore serene Last Hope Sound (Ultima Esperanza). Paddle through the Eberhard Fjord, Puerto Prat, and the historic "Island of the Dead," used as a cemetery to bury the first settlers. In these protected waters look out for swans, red-gartered coots, and great grebes. Arrive at Guanaco Island and admire the panoramic view, including spectacular mountains. Learn about Patagonia's indigenous canoeing tribes, where the women were strong paddlers and navigators.

Explore Puerto Natales

Spend the day in and around Puerto Natales browsing the Handicraft Village and getting to know some of the women behind the local designs you'll see there. Meet more female entrepreneurs with a course in local gastronomy and a yoga session in a peaceful spot outside Puerto Natales.

Depart from Punta Arenas

Transfer from Puerto Natales to the Punta Arenas Airport to meet your flight back to Santiago.
